Consequence’s Fall Reading Period Now Open

The reading period for Consequence Volume 15.1 is now open. Online journal Hole in the Head re:View has recently released Volume 3 Number 3 which features Kenneth Rosen, Ginny Speirs, Jeanne Julian, Sebastian Matthews, and Joan Mazza to name a few. Do you love work that focuses on current events and news? Jump into the latest issue of online journal Topical Poetry which is available to access for free and publishes new content every two weeks. Recent work includes “Asian Solidarity” by Jenn Martin, “Still Here” by Buff Whitman-Bradley, and “CIMATES CHANGE” by Joanne Kennedy Frazer.
Rejoinder is an annual online publication from the Institute for Research on Women at Rutgers University in partnership with The Feminist Project. The Spring 2022 issue is themed “Trauma” and features poetry by Okolo Chinua, artwork with artist statements, and so much more. In the Summer 2022 issue of Chestnut Review, you can find an excerpt of the winning entry from their 2021 Prose Chapbook Contest, Resistance by Sue Mell, along with an interview with Mell and finalist Siddiqui Chansarkar.
World Literature Today’s September/October 2022 issue assembles more than a dozen writers, artists, photographers, and translators reflecting on the theme Bearing Witness: Confronting Injustice Through Art for their cover feature. If you’re looking for a unique addition to your magazine library, consider picking up Cholla Needles Issue 69. Each issue is comprised of ten chapbooks divided by covers. They also work hard with young writers and their local community, so do check them out.
If you’re interested in translation, you’re going to love Rattle’s Fall 2022 issue which features a Tribute to Translation with 17 poems spanning two millennia, originally written in a variety of languages from Spanish to Swahili. If high page counts don’t intimidate you, grab Gargoyle 75 which clocks in at nearly 500 pages of nonfiction, poetry, fiction, and art. And don’t forget they now offer Gargoyle Online which has released its second issue recent.
Last, but definitely not least, check out the latest issue of online magazine Cutleaf (2.17). They not only release a new issue online twice each month, but they also offer a print annual. Recent contributors include Marjorie Tesser, Shawna Kay Rodenberg, Beth Weinstock, Leslie Doyle, and more.
